The QD Bushings boast a split tapered flange with a central split, providing enhanced clamping force compared to standard bushings. Ideal for use with sprockets, sheaves, and pulleys, they ensure superior mounting for V-belt, synchronous belt, and roller chain drives. The expandable split aids in smooth sliding along the drive shaft, while the flange offers precise bushing positioning in the bore.
These versatile QD bushings offer dual installation options: 'standard mount' and 'reverse mount.' The key to successful installation lies in correctly aligning the bolt holes for a secure fit. As bolts are tightened, the bushing contracts, firmly gripping the shaft for a steadfast hold.
Mounting Guidelines
1. Ensure the tapered cone surfaces of both the bushing and the driven products are clean, and apply anti-seize lubricants to prevent sticking.
2. Slide the QD bushing onto the shaft with the flange end leading, and assemble the key in place.
3. Position the QD bushing on the shaft. Tighten the set screw over the key using a standard wrench, applying 'hand tight' force only.
4. Align the large end of the sheave, pulley, or sprocket taper bore over the cone, ensuring bolt holes align with the bushing flange.
5. Securely tighten pull-up bolts alternately and evenly to the torque specifications provided in the accompanying torque table.
