QD Bushings are designed with a split tapered flange, providing superior clamping force on sprockets, sheaves, and pulleys compared to standard bored-to-size bushings. Their quick-disconnect capability makes them indispensable for V-belt, synchronous belt, and roller chain drives. The innovative split in the bushing wall allows for smooth adjustments along the drive shaft, while the flanged design ensures precise bushing placement within the bore.
The QD bushing's flexible installation offers two distinct mounting options: 'standard mount' or 'reverse mount.' Ensure the correct hole alignment for a secure fit, as tightening the bolts causes the bushing to contract, ensuring a tight grip on the shaft.
Mounting Instructions
1. Ensure that the tapered cone surfaces of both the bushing and the driven products are clean and free from anti-seize lubricants.
2. Slide the QD bushing onto the shaft with the flange end leading. Insert the key securely.
3. Position the QD bushing on the shaft and tighten the set screw over the key 'hand-tight' using only a standard wrench. Avoid using excessive force.
4. Align the large end of the sheave, pulley, or sprocket over the cone, ensuring drilled bolt holes are properly aligned with tapered holes in the bushing's flange.
5. Evenly and alternately tighten the pull-up bolts to the specified tightness as indicated in the torque table located on the back.
