Our QD Bushings boast a split tapered flange with perfectly aligned split and taper. Ideal for sprockets, sheaves, and pulleys, offering greater clamping force than standard bushings. Essential for V-belt drives, synchronous belt drives, and roller chain drives. The split wall design allows smooth adjustment along the drive shaft. The flange ensures precise bushing positioning within the bore, surpassing non-flanged alternatives.
The QD bushing enables versatile installation with its dual mounting options: 'standard mount' or 'reverse mount'. The key to a successful installation lies in accurately matching the set of holes and ensuring the bushing is securely seated. When bolts are tightened, the QD bushing contracts, holding the shaft securely.
Mounting Instructions:
1. Ensure that the tapered cone surfaces of both the bushing and the inside of the driven products are pristine, free from any anti-seize lubricants.
2. Slide the QD bushing onto the shaft, flange end first, and assemble the key for a secure fit.
3. Position the QD bushing on the shaft, tightening the set screw over the key 'hand tight' using only a standard wrench. Avoid excessive force for optimal results.
4. Align the large end of the sheave, pulley, or sprocket taper bore over the cone, matching the drilled bolt holes with the tapered holes in the bushing's flange.
5. Secure the pull-up bolts by tightening them alternately and evenly to the specified torque in the torque table provided.
