QD Bushings are engineered with a split tapered flange, central to the innovative design, enhancing clamping force beyond traditional bored-to-size bushings. Ideal for sprockets, sheaves, and pulleys, they are indispensable for mounting V-belt, synchronous belt, and roller chain drives. The clever split design allows easy adjustments along the drive shaft, while the flange ensures precise bushing alignment within the bore, surpassing non-flanged alternatives.
The versatile QD bushing offers dual mounting options-standard or reverse-providing unparalleled flexibility during installation. The key to successful installation lies in matching the correct set of holes and firmly seating the bushing. As bolts are meticulously tightened, the bushing securely contracts around the shaft, ensuring a robust grip.
Mounting Guidelines
1. Ensure all tapered cone surfaces of the bushing and driven components are impeccably clean and free from anti-seize lubricants for optimal performance.
2. Slide the QD bushing onto the shaft with the flange end leading, and carefully assemble the key for a secure fit.
3. Accurately position the QD bushing on the shaft and gently tighten the set screw over the key, using only a standard wrench to avoid excessive force.
4. Position the larger end of the sheave, pulley, or sprocket's taper bore over the cone, ensuring precise alignment of drilled bolt holes with the flange's tapered holes.
5. Securely tighten the pull-up bolts alternately and evenly, adhering to the torque specifications detailed in the table provided on the reverse side.
