Our QD Bushings are engineered with a split tapered flange, strategically designed for superior clamping force. Essential for mounting V-belt, synchronous belt, and roller chain drives, these bushings excel in providing firm grip and accurate positioning. The flange mounting guarantees precise alignment on sprockets, sheaves, and pulleys, making them indispensable where enhanced clamping is paramount.
The QD bushing transforms installation flexibility by offering two distinct mounting options: 'standard mount' and 'reverse mount'. Key to this versatile design is the precise matching of hole selection, ensuring a secure fit. As bolts are tightened, the bushing expertly collapses, securing the shaft with exceptional grip.
Mounting Procedure
1. Ensure that the surfaces of the bushing's tapered cone and the interior of the driven components are meticulously clean. Apply anti-seize lubricants for optimal performance.
2. Initiate installation by sliding the QD bushing onto the shaft, flange end first. Proceed to assemble the key for secure attachment.
3. Accurately position the QD bushing on the shaft. Tighten the set screw over the key using a standard wrench, applying only manual force to avoid damage.
4. Align the large end of your sheave, pulley, or sprocket with the cone's taper, ensuring drilled bolt holes are accurately aligned with the bushing's flange holes.
5. Secure the installation by tightening the pull-up bolts alternately and evenly, following the torque specifications provided in the accompanying torque table for optimal stability.
