QD Bushings feature a split tapered flange with the split central to the flange and taper. They are used on sprockets, sheaves, and pulleys where more clampling force is required over standard bored-to-size bushings.Qick-disconnect bushings are essential for mounting V-belt drives, synchronous belt drives and roller chain drives. The split in the bushing wall can be gently increased to help slide the bushing along the drive shaft. The flange mounts to the pulley or sprocket and provides more accurate positioning of the bushing in the bore compared to non-flanged bushings.
The QD bushing offers more flexibility in installation, provides two differrent ways to mount components. It can be mounted as a "standard mount" or "reverse mount".The key aspect of installing a QD bushing is ensuring that the selected set of holes is properly matched, and the bushing is seated firmly. As the bolts are tightened, the QD bushing collapses, gripping the shaft tightly.
Mouting
1.Be sure the tapered cone surfaces of the bushing and the inside of the driven products are clean and gree to anti-seize lubricants
2.Slide QD bushing on shaft, flange end first .Assemble key.
3.Position QD bushing on shaft.Tighten set screw over key "hand tight" with standard wrench only. Do not use excessive force.
4.Slide large end of sheave, pulley or sprocket taper bore into position over cone aligning drilled bolt holes in sheave, pulley or sprocket with tapered holes in flange of bushing.
5.Tighten pull-pu bolts alternately and evenly to tightness indicated in torque table on back.
